Docklands Australia Day Short Course Regatta announced

by DYC

A 3 day regatta has been scheduled for the Australia Day long weekend at Docklands Yacht Club and entry is now open.

The Docklands Australia Day Short Course regatta will take place on the 23rd, 24th and 25th of January, and will be the first regatta held at our new home - the Community Boating Hub.

The boats sailed will be the Hansa 2.3, 303 and Liberty and a minimum of 2 boats is required to constitute a fleet. Up to 12 short races each day may be conducted.

Short course racing is the best possible practice for just about any kind of yacht racing, combining starting practice with multiple tactical situations in several races per regatta. This fun, friendly regatta will include a full day's coaching clinic, followed by two days of racing.

The event also serves as a great warm-up event for the Victorian Hansa Class Championships, being held the following weekend at Latrobe Valley Yacht Club at which the same classes of boats will be competing - allowing sailors to compete in 2 regattas in one week.

Sailors of any age, sailing ability or disability are invited to attend one, or all days and, subject to availability, club boats may be available for non-member competitors for a small fee of $10 per day - or, you can bring your own boat. To book a charter boat, please contact Shauna at vcdocklandsyc@gmail.com

The Notice of Race and fillable entry form are available at the bottom of the page.
