DYC Sailors invited to Victorian Championships
by Docklands Yacht Club
The Notice of Race and Online Entry are now available for the 2016 Victorian Hansa Class Championships and DYC members are invited to take part.
This event will be held at the Latrobe Valley Yacht Club on January 30th & 31st, 2016. The sailing takes place on the cooling pond of the Hazelwood Power Station.
Invited classes are the Hansa 2.3, Hansa 303 Singles and Doubles and Liberty. Competitors are welcome to arrive on Friday 29th January and practice racing will be held from 3pm. These state championships are a great, fun regatta and we welcome new sailors of any ability to come and compete. Historically, DYC members have done very well at these events, and we'd like the tradition to continue!
DYC Club members who wish to arrange a charter boat for this event should contact Shauna at email@example.com
To enter this event, one sailor in each boat needs to be a member of the Australian Hansa Class Association. Cost of annual membership is $35, and this fee can be paid as part of the online entry process. Please remember to also complete and return the membership form - see Membership page on the AHCA website.

Entries close at 5pm on the 22nd January.
Latrobe Valley Yacht Club is about 90 minutes drive south-east of Melbourne. It is the home of the iconic Sauna Sail, held on the Queen's Birthday weekend in June, where the Hansa Class boats have been an invited class for many years. The sailing area is the cooling pond of the Hazelwood Power Station.
Accomodation is plentiful in nearby Morwell, Traralgon and Churchill. You can also camp at the venue. The Latrobe City Council has constructed camping facilities at Hazelwood Pondage. Some Powered sites are available along with shower and toilet block facilities. There is plenty of room to camp. You do not need to book. The camping fees are to be paid to the Park Caretaker.
