No Community Sailing November 8th

by DYC

As we have a limited number of people available on Sunday 8th (this sunday) we have decided that the Club will be CLOSED for Community Sailing on Sunday.

There is no further info from City of Melbourne regarding when we will have access to the new building to move our boats and equipment. As soon as we know, we'll let you know. The next couple of weeks on the calendar are listed as TBC, so once the move dates are confirmed, we will update the calendar accordingly.

We haven't had much of a chance to race so far this summer, with the first short course series abandoned and the second one currently TBC ... however..

Royal Brighton have kindly invited the Hansa Classes to be part of their annual OTB regatta - The George Mac.

To be held over the weekend of November 21 & 22 this year, the regatta will bring together OTB sailors of all ages. We will cater for a broad range  of classes - all junior and youth classes, as well as selected open classes including International 2.4mRs, RS100s, RS200s, Pacers and Vipers.  There is more information at http://www.rbyc.org.au/sailing/regattas/george-mccallum-regatta/, including the Notice of Race and Online Entry. Entries close November 18th

Is there any interest from anyone in the Club to sail at this event? Entry is $60 for the single person class, which includes the racing across the 2 days and a t-shirt. We now have 7 x 303's as well as our Liberties, which if we had enough interest, we could possibly ask to be included also.

If you are interested, please contact us ASAP at docklandsyachtclub@gmail.com

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
