Docklands Yacht Club overlooks Victoria Harbour with sweeping views of the Melbourne City skyline and the ever changing Docklands precinct. From January 2016, sailing will take place from the 60 metre pontoon at our new premises - the Community Boating Hub, 912 Collins Street, adacent to the Library at Dock Square. Community Sailing days are normally the second and fourth Sunday of each month year round from 11am but are subject to change (check Calendar page for more details). Everyone is welcome. We supply the boats, lifejackets and instruction.
Community Hub nears completion
The new home of the Docklands Yacht Club is edging closer to completion.
Final finishes are being applied and the building is on schedule for handover and fitout.
The new 7m glass door will open and retract automatically - a far cry from the manual chain system in our current building.
The multi-purpose room on the 1st floor features 2 AV projectors and screens and a state of the art kitchen. A matching kitchenette is provided on our level.
DYC will share the space with our current co-tenants - Dragonboats Victoria and the Melbourne Outrigger Canoe Club.
The 'atrium' space above the DYC area will allow all our boats to remain on their trailers and fully rigged. Pedestrians on Collins Street and the harbour walkways will be able to look through the Clubs.
We are grateful to Lend Lease and Melbourne City Council for arranging the recent site visit.
