December Short Course Regatta

by David Staley

The Docklands Short Course Regatta was sailed in a light and fluctuating southerly this Sunday.

It was a very a warm and sunny day but the sea breeze never freshened as expected. Nevertheless, racing conditions were good and six races were conducted in two sessions.  All classes raced together in a combined division with results calculated in Yachting Victoria Yardsticks.

Winner of the inaugural Short Course Regatta was Roy Jewell who won 4 of the 6 races on corrected time sailing a Hansa 303.  Cadeyrn Gaskin in a Liberty was second, and Christine Elliott (Hansa 303) was third.

Results from the Regatta also count for the class based season championships.
