Docklands sailors were in the action at the recent Victorian Hansa Class Championships, held at Royal Yacht Club of Victoria on February 15th and 16th.

Beck West and Christine Elliott were in the 303 singles division, Roy Jewell and Louis Patterson competed in the 303 doubles and Russell Phillips, Caderyn Gaskin and Sally Wilkinson were all in the Liberty fleet.

Conditions were calm on the Saturday however showers, stronger winds and large swells made for more challenging conditions on the Sunday.

Christine sailed consistently across to the two days to finish the event in 3rd place, with Roy and Louis coming second in the 303 Doubles.

In the Liberties, Russell ended the event in 2nd place, with Caderyn in equal 5th place and Sally in 8th in her first regatta in the Liberty, having moved up from competing in the 2.3 division last year.

Docklands regular visitors Marty Waller and Sarah and Craig Millsom took out the 2.3 and 303 Doubles titles respectively, with Sarah also being awarded Best Female Overall.

Beck was awarded the Most Improved Trophy and Docklands Yacht Club was awarded the Dr Alan Rose Club Award for providing support and 9 boats for local and interstate competitors.
