Docklands Yacht Club overlooks Victoria Harbour with sweeping views of the Melbourne City skyline and the ever changing Docklands precinct. From January 2016, sailing will take place from the 60 metre pontoon at our new premises - the Community Boating Hub, 912 Collins Street, adacent to the Library at Dock Square. Community Sailing days are normally the second and fourth Sunday of each month year round from 11am but are subject to change (check Calendar page for more details). Everyone is welcome. We supply the boats, lifejackets and instruction.
DYC Sailors at Sail Melbourne
by David Staley
Docklands Yacht Club members Russell Phillips, Sally Wilkinson and Neil Patterson are sailing in the ISAF Sailing World Cup – Sail Melbourne event currently under way at Sandringham Yacht Club.
Day one of Sail Melbourne dawned bright and hot, with a strong hot northerly wind of around 18-24 knots blowing. The Liberties and SKUD18’s sailed the afternoon session on the prime ‘Stadium’ courses – right off the breakwater outside the Club.
Russell and Sally retired from the first race with electrical issues on the first day, but managing to complete both races today. Neil is racing his recently acquired International 2.4mR boat for the first time.
