Docklands Yacht Club overlooks Victoria Harbour with sweeping views of the Melbourne City skyline and the ever changing Docklands precinct. From January 2016, sailing will take place from the 60 metre pontoon at our new premises - the Community Boating Hub, 912 Collins Street, adacent to the Library at Dock Square. Community Sailing days are normally the second and fourth Sunday of each month year round from 11am but are subject to change (check Calendar page for more details). Everyone is welcome. We supply the boats, lifejackets and instruction.
Sail school holiday registration now open
Docklands Yacht Club will be holding a holiday program during the first week of the school holidays.
Dates are Monday, Tuesday 26th ,27th and Thursday, Friday 29th , 30th September. Classes will start at 9am and finish at 3pm each day for the 4 days.
Early registrations are essential as numbers will be restricted. Participants must be at least ten years old.
Ray Allen the Training Principal for the Yachting Australia Training Centre at Docklands Yacht Club holds his Working With Children’s card as do all the other YA training instructors at the centre.
The Beginners category for the Learn to Sail will be an important part of the Sail School holiday program
Using the club owned training fleet the beginners will be taught the basics behind sailing as well as letting them experience this wonderful sport at first hand. The holiday program will be open to more experienced youth sailors as well.
The registration fee of $300 for the 4 days will include insurance, life jackets and boats being supplied. (Access dinghies, Pacers, Ozi Optis and 125’s)
