Docklands Yacht Club overlooks Victoria Harbour with sweeping views of the Melbourne City skyline and the ever changing Docklands precinct. From January 2016, sailing will take place from the 60 metre pontoon at our new premises - the Community Boating Hub, 912 Collins Street, adacent to the Library at Dock Square. Community Sailing days are normally the second and fourth Sunday of each month year round from 11am but are subject to change (check Calendar page for more details). Everyone is welcome. We supply the boats, lifejackets and instruction.
Docklands sailors nominated for awards
The Yachting Victoria Awards Night was held at Sandringham Yacht Club on Friday 22nd June. Mark Thorpe, who sailed into third place in the Access 303 Two Person World Championships in April with crew Bruce James, was announced as the Victorian Sailor of the Year with a Disability and presented his trophy by champion swimmer Matt Welsh.
Following excellent results and State, National or International regattas, a number of DYC Members, along with other sailors who regularly participate in the Docklands Short Course Series, were nominated in the Sailor of the Year with a Disability category.
