Docklands Yacht Club overlooks Victoria Harbour with sweeping views of the Melbourne City skyline and the ever changing Docklands precinct. From January 2016, sailing will take place from the 60 metre pontoon at our new premises - the Community Boating Hub, 912 Collins Street, adacent to the Library at Dock Square. Community Sailing days are normally the second and fourth Sunday of each month year round from 11am but are subject to change (check Calendar page for more details). Everyone is welcome. We supply the boats, lifejackets and instruction.
Flying Fifteen Interclub Champs in Docklands
Docklands Yacht Club is hosting the 2010 Flying Fifteen International Victorian Interclub Championships on Sunday 16 May.
These classy, two person, highly technical keelboats have sailed on Victoria Harbour in the past. The FFIV Association members enjoyed the venue so much they are back, hopefully on a regular basis, despite having to provide a mobile crane to launch and retrieve their boats for each event.
Teams of three boats from each of eight Victorian clubs will contest the one-day event that will be managed on the water by Principal Race Officer Geoff Eldridge from Davey's Bay Yacht Club. The twenty four boats will race in three separate fleets with the best combined scores winning the team trophy.
