Football Queensland is seeking to contract the services of a Sport and Recreation Coordinator over a 9 month term finishing 30^th September. The coordinator will work with 7 local sporting clubs (“cluster clubs”) in order to build the capacity of these community organisations. 

The coordinator will be expected to develop a strategic approach to support cluster clubs across a range of areas including governance, administration, funding, grants, sponsorship, marketing and training.

An import aspect of this role will be to develop partnerships with government bodies, local clubs, schools, the community, elected members of all levels of government and other stakeholders in order to facilitate in order to facilitate opportunities to develop and enhance the programs, services and facilities of cluster clubs. 

Skills and qualifications:

• Tertiary qualifications and extensive experience in sport and recreation, would be an advantage.
• Highly developed presentation and interpersonal skills with high level of communication skills, including an ability to interact and negotiate with a diverse range of people
• Professional understanding of governance and strategic planning issued as well as the operational requirements within a club environment
• Demonstrated ability to work with sport and recreation stakeholders, Local government, Federal and State Government agencies, regional organizations, community groups and special interest groups.
• Experience in project management and working with community groups.
• Experience in a Football environment
