Player and Team Registrations are now open for the 2021 KHBA Junior Summer Competition.

The competition will start in the week beginning 1 March 2021. The first 4 weeks will be for grading and during this time new teams can still enter if there is room in the competition.

In a change from previous years we have moved to age groups rather than school year groups. The main reason for doing this is to be consistent with new competitions similar to ours starting in Hobart and on the Eastern Shore, with the possibility of our top teams playing against them at the end of the season. This also brings us into line with most basketball competitions played around the state.

Age Groups for 2021

Under 12	Grade 4 or 5 for most students, but grade 3 students are welcome to join as well.
Under 14	Grade 6 or 7.
Under 16	Grade 8 or 9
Under 18	Grade 10 or 11

Note:

• Players can play up an age group if they wish; eg Grade 7 students can play in the U16 competition, grade 5 could play U14 etc.
• You can still run grade 3/4 and 5/6 teams if you wish – just be aware that they could be playing against players a year older.
• The good news is that teams that played last year can stay together if they wish as all age groups have gone up by a year!

Competitions for Summer Roster 2021

Under 12 (Mixed)	Tuesdays
Under 14 Boys	Tuesdays – girls are welcome to join teams if they wish
Under 16 Boys	Mondays
Under 18 Boys	Mondays
Under 16/18 Girls	Wednesday. U14 girls might also choose to join this. Note: to avoid clashing with SATIS Senior Girls roster this competition will not start until later in March.

• All games are played at Kingborough Sports Centre.
• Game times are between 3:45 and 6:30 pm each day.

Cost

Each player needs to pay the annual registration. This is $75 for U12 and $100 for U14 and above. This is paid when players register to their team (see below). Annual registration includes insurance cover and affiliation fees for Basketball Australia, Basketball Tasmania and KHBA. If players are in a Kings team they will have already paid this.

Each game costs $65 per team. This will be invoiced, with the first $325 being invoiced after the first 3 games.

The registration process is a bit simpler than last year.

Step 1 – team coordinator registers the team using this link. There is no cost to do this.

They will then be given a team code.

Step 2 – Once this has been done you will receive a team code. You can then get your players to register to the team using the team code and the link below:

This will also register them as a player and they will need to pay the annual registration ($75 for U12, $100 for U14 and above) to complete this step.
