2012 ARRBL Season

2012 saw the ARRBL change to a weekend carnival format over 4 weekends, with teams from Harvey Bay and Bundaberg joining for the first time. The tournament also went back to A-mens, Womens and Reserve Mens. Warwick Wildcats were not permitted to host a round in 2012, so decided to enter a team to defend their unbeaten reign as Reserves Champions.

Reserve Grade

As the only club ever to hold this trophy, Warwick were out to defend their title oince again

The Warwick team was Coached by Player Coach - Duncan McKenzie, and the team was made up of:

Ben Long, Josh Cremasco, DJ Cremasco, Sam Cremasco, Nick Quinn, Andrew Stubbings, Dean Clark and Duncan McKenzie.

The teams to enter this division were (in order of standings at the end of the regular season): Warwick, Tenterfield, Dalby, Highfields.

The Warwick team finished as clear favourites at the end of the preliminary rounds of this competition, with a record of only 2 losses throughout the rounds

There were no suprises in the Reserve Grade Mens Grand final with old rivals Warwick and Tenterfield battling it out once again. Tenterfield got of to a great start and led the game for the first half, at one point stretching out to a 10 point lead. By the end of the third quarter though, Warwick had bridged the gap, after switching to a man on man strategy which ultimately won them the game. The final quarter was close but Warwick had their noses in front and managed to hold off a final charge from Tenterfield to remain the only side to win the Reserve Men's Division in the history of the ARRBL.

Andrew Stubbings won the award for the best player in the Grand Final, while DJ Cremasco won the award for the Reserve grade Player of the season.
