Under 12 Boys

Score: Bellarine 32 drew with Melton 32

Top Scorers: Kye Baulch (11pts), Mitchell Peers & Seb Thomason (8pts each)

MVP: Mitchell Peers – A great all round game by Mitchell, who worked hard defensively and offensively.  Scoring 8 points and finishing with 12 rebounds for the game.

Game Report: A tight tussle between the two teams made it difficult to score with the boys going in at the main break trailing by 3 pts.  A concerted effort after half time saw the boys take a slim lead, before Melton again pegged Storm back.   At 32pts a piece Mitchell drew the foul going to the basket with a second to go and a chance to break the deadlock.  Unfortunately both his shots from the free foul line missed. Bad luck Mitch.

Ladder position after Rd 9: 2nd (7-1-1)

Next Week: Friday 12th June: Bellarine vs. Diamond Valley 2 -  at Diamond Valley (6.50pm)

Under 14 (B) Girls

Score: Bellarine 26 lost to Collingwood 2 27

Top Scorers: Abbey Newton & Allison Marsh (7pts each), Finlay Neal (6pts)

Game Report: The girls played well.  We were a bit slow to score in the first half and at half time we were down by 10 points.  The second half saw the girls slowly clawing back at the lead Collingwood had, and get in front.  We lapsed concentration in our defence for a few minutes and Collingwood scored a couple of quick goals, which put them in front.  To the girls credit Collingwood only scored 10 points in the second half.  Overall the girls had a good game and never gave up.  Well done girls.

Ladder position after Rd 9: 3rd (5-3)

Next Week: Friday 12th June: Bellarine vs. Melbourne 4 – at Bellarine Sports Centre (8.40pm)
