INTRODUCTORY OFFICIATING - GENERAL PRINCIPLES ON-LINE COURSE
The Australian Sports Commission has developed an online course for beginner coaches.  All referees coaches should, as a minimum requirement, complete the online course.  To view course information and to enrol in the course: click here


 

BEGINNINERS REFEREE COURSE - LEVEL 0
This is specifically for beginners with this course covering:

- What it means to be an official
- Safety
- Pre-game and post game duties
- Start of the game
- Communication and use of the whistle
- Signals
- Time outs and substitutions
- Types of contact and how to call a foul
- Recognising violations

Course participants must be a miniumum of 12 years of age.  Participants are to wear sports clothing and shoes suitable for on court activity.

The next course is (at the Brickpit Stadium on the Mezzanine level):

- Tuesday 30th January from 5.30pm to 8.45pm

LEVEL 1 OFFICIALS COURSE
This is specifically for officials wishing to obtain further levels of accreditation, gain a better understanding and practical experience so they may officiate at higher levels of basketball (i.e. representative basketball).

Course participants must be a miniumum of 13 years of age and be at least Y2 or Y3 grade.  Participants are to wear sports clothing and shoes suitable for on court activity.
