It is important for players to SIGN ON BEFORE they play each week. This is for both insurance and eligibility reasons (semi finals and rep teams).
Injuries & Insurance
Manly Warringah Touch Association (MWTA) is a current affiliate of New South Wales Touch Association (NSWTA) who is in turn affiliated with Touch Football Australia (TFA).
TFA is the only touch football national organisation recognised by the Australian Sports Commission and the Australian Government and as such is deemed the National Sporting Organisation (NSO).
Touch Football Australia and Sportscover are committed to providing the Touch Football community with a first class Sports Insurance Scheme. Whilst the National Insurance Scheme (NIS) provides basic levels of cover for players and others participating in Touch Football, it is not all encompassing and does not seek to replace the need for private health and other insurances.
TFA and MWTA encourages all players and officials to take out their own Private Health Insurance, Life Insurance and Loss of Income coverage over and above the coverage provided under this Scheme. In protecting all of the affiliated members within Australia, TFA manages, negotiates, and controls annually the National Insurance Scheme.
Please note all MWTA registered players and officials are covered by Sportscover however players must have registered ONLINE to be covered.
All players in our Senior competitions must also sign their team registration sheet prior to the commencement of their game for insurance purposes.
We do know of players that have been injured playing touch footy and have then tried to make a claim via Sportscover but have had their claim rejected due to not being registered online and/or not signing on prior to their game.
Below is information on how to make a claim under the Personal Accident Policy. If you wish to make a claim or notify an incident, please contact Sportscover immediately.
