2011 SBL Fixtures

The fixtures for the 23rd season of the State Basketball League (SBL) have been finalised.

The SBL will continue to host the Pre-Season Blitz for all fourteen associations over the Labour Day Long Weekend. WA Basketball Centre will play host to the Pre-Season Blitz with games on Friday 4, Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 March.

The 2011 SBL season will tip off on Friday March 18 with games at Morley, Rockingham & Lakeside. Dual 2010 SBL Champions Willetton Tigers will unveil their Championship Banners at home in Week One against the Perth Redbacks.

Features of the 23rd season of the SBL include:

  • Grand Final rematches in Week Three (Men - Tigers v Lightning) and Week Nine (Women - Tigers v Hawks).
  • Easter/ANZAC Long Weekend (Week Six) will see games on Thursday, Friday & Saturday with all clubs in action.
  • Foundation Day Weekend (Week 12) will see four days of SBL action with both Goldfields & Geraldton in town for a triple header.
  • Country Rivalry will be in full swing when Goldfields host Geraldton in Week Eight after Geraldton play at Stirling the night before. The return leg will be played in Week 15 when Goldfields also play at Stirling before heading to Geraldton on Saturday.
  • The 2011 season will finish in Week 19 on July 22/23 with the finals commencing on July 29/30.
  • The Women's Grand Final will be played on Friday August 26 and the Men's on Saturday August 27 at the WA Basketball Centre.
