This Sunday September 21 former
Hervey Bay Bomber Adam Spackman and former Brothers Bulldog Andrew Browning will
play in the AFL QLD State League Velocity Sports Cup Grand Final at Gold Coast
Stadium Carrara when Morningside take on Southport.
The two AFL BWB products were key players in last weeks preliminary final upset against Mt Gravatt which saw the
minor premiers crash out of the finals race in straight sets having lost to
second place Southport in the Qualifying Final previously.
Browning plays in the Ruck or in the key position posts at either half back and at half forward and has been a
stalwart at Morningside after leaving Brothers Bulldogs in Bundaberg for Brisbane as teenager.
Spackman has had a break out season
in the AFL QLD State League as an attacking half back flanker who runs the ball
strongly out of defence and has established himself as a key player. He
represented Queensland against WA in Townsville earlier this year and was in the
top ten in the State Leagues Rising Star voting and at 20 years old and still
can gain an opportunity at the elite level if he can perform on the big stage in
front of AFL recruiters.
