History will be made in the AFLC Frenchville Sports Club Premiership when the Grand Final Teams meet in the last match of the year at Boyne Oval, the first time the Club will host the Grand Final. BITS President Andrew McMahon has been busy, with his team, in preparation for this years show case event and a big crowd is expected to flock in to Boyne Oval to witness the days matches.
Yeppoon Swans and the BITS Saints will contest all Junior Grand Finals this year and whilst the two Clubs have dominated the Junior Competition this year there hasn't been too much that has separated these two Clubs across all grades. Our Under 13's match will see League Best & Fairest & Leading Goal Kicker, Ben O'Brien, go head to head with this years Best & Fairest Runners Up Will Raffin.
The Under 15's Match will see another one of our Junior Award winners in Runners Up Best and Fairest, Mitchell Tucker, take the field for the Swans. The Swans have had the edge over the Saints this year, however the last time the two teams met it was the Saints that got the Points at Boyne Oval. The sides have not met yet in this years Finals Series.
In the 17's a host of award winners will be on display with League Best & Fairest, Ryan Shanks, lining up for the Saints whilst the Swans have a wealth of talent with tied Best & Fairest Runners Up, Bradley 'Beanie' Francis & Zana Stevenson, taking the field alongside Leading Goal Kicker for the League Mitchell Greig.
The Reserve Grade Grand Final sees a replay of last years GF with the Saints again meeting the Swans. After an undefeated season last year the Swans tripped at the final hurdle and it was the Saints who went home with the Premiership Cup. Swans will be determined to make sure that this year is not a repeat as they look to make amends for season 2017.
The Glenmore Bulls will be shooting for a remarkable 6th straight premiership when they face the Rockhampton Panthers for the 5th consecutive time in the Women's Grand Final. This year it has been the Panthers that have had the edge taking out the Minor Premiership, largely due to the efforts of sharp shooter and League Leading Goal Kicker Taylah Pringle. The Bulls have some firepower of their own with the 2018 Maree Lambart Medallist, Bree Grentell, having an outsanding Season which contributed to her team finishing the season with 8 wins in a row.
In the A Grade match Yeppoon will be looking for a piece of History themselves as they chase down a 4th consecutive title. After taking out the Leagues Bernie Gottke Medal & Runners Up brothers, Tom & Leigh Cossens, will be primed to push their team across the line. There opponent, the Glenmore Bulls, have had a remarkable season with the possibility of turning a Wooden Spoon in 2017 tinto Premiership Cup in 2018 within their sights.
With a Kids Zone, avariety of catering and 2 licensed areas it is sure to be a great day had by all at this years Grand Final Day in Boyne Island.
