Find a Club
Water polo is a close community in the ACT. There are three main clubs that play all year round for you to join: Dragons, Nordek and Vikings. In the senior divisions, our winter competition is complemented by the Australian Defence Force Academy and our summer competition enjoys the participation of the Canberra Grammar Old Boys community. In the junior winter competition, there are a number of schools (boys and girls) that enter teams so enquire with your school whether they have a water polo team.
For more information about the three main clubs, please visit their websites. Come to a training, watch a game, have a go. We're always looking for new players in the ACT. It won't be long before you too become a familiar face on pool deck!more -->
The Gungahlin Dragons Water Polo Club was established in 1996 and operates out of Gungahlin Leisure Centre. We are a vibrant sporting club that caters to players who seek to compete at the highest representative level, ranging down to those who love the game and just wish to stay fit and healthy.
New and prospective members are welcome to come along and join in our training sessions! Trainings are structured, progressive and friendly, catering to all skill levels from ages 10 years and upward. Sessions are based around improving skills, developing the core building blocks of strength, fitness, speed and flexibility, and enjoying the game of water polo!
We regularly send teams to interstate competitions, including the Australian University Games, NSW Districts, Country Clubs, Waterpolooza and we have strong links with other interstate teams and ACT Schools. We have a history of success since our club first opened, with many titles under our belt! But equally as important – we have a strong family focus with commitment to local community relationships and a great social element.
We are also very proud of the fact that many of our second division players have been with the club for a long period of time. The ongoing relationship with our ‘Club Men and Women’ is important to us and their continued participation proves it is a sport that retains its appeal as a lifelong activity enjoyed for fun and fitness.
