Aquatics Programme Coordinator - Vanuatu
Vanuatu Aquatics Federation is the national governing body for aquatic sports, and administers competitive swimming in accordance with FINA (the Fédération Internationale de Natation - International Swimming Federation) and its own constitution. VAF provides programs and services for members, supporters, partners and the public, and is committed to continuous learning and achieving excellence. VAF’s vision is to provide the opportunity for members to develop the life skill of swimming in an open and supportive environment, inspiring and enabling its members to achieve their ‘own excellence’ in swimming and in life.
VAF aims to develop aquatic sports at the grass roots level as well as the high performance level. While the Federation is the governing body for swimming, open water swimming, diving, water polo, synchronised swimming and Masters programme/activity, VAF will initially focus on developing swimming.
VAF is based out of Wan Smol Bag’s office (a non- government organisation based in Vanuatu with 16 full- time core actors working in theatre productions, radio drama and film work) and has three employees who work with the Wan Smol Bag Sports Coordinator, Finance and Operations teams.
VAF currently runs learn to swim programs in Mele, Tanoliu, Eton and Ekipe, and asks that the volunteer assist in strengthening these programs and expanding the reach of VAF throughout their assignment.
