FILM -Family Ties Ensure Personal Best For Samoans

Get an insight into swimming at the highest level, and how one young swimmer from Samoa copes having his mum as his coach. During the 2013 World Swimming Championships Samoan swimmer Brandon Schuster, 15, talks about life on the road with his coach who is also his mum. 

Suzie Schuster (mum/coach) talks about the challenges of coaching her son, spending vast amounts of time together and the challenges of balancing swimming and personal time. 

At the 2013 World Swimming Championships in Barcelona Brandon swam the 400m freestyle and the 800m freestyle, he swam the 400m in a time of 4 minutes 29.6 seconds and the 800m free in a time of 9 minutes 27.45 seconds. Both of his results were new personal bests.
