Junior Learn To Sail Program

Note: The Junior Learn to Sail program for 2016-17 is now full.  If you are interested in learning to sail please contact us to place you name on a waiting list in case a spot opens up or for next season's course which will commence in November 2017.

This program is designed for children 10 years to 16 years of age.

The participants sail in Optimist and Minnow single handed dinghies. One course runs the whole sailing season.

Training is initially conducted in the protected and shallow waters of the lagoon afforded by the Ricketts Point reef which runs in front of the Club. Instructors stand in the water and coach the children. Parents of children are encouraged to assist whereever they can.

All Instructors carry Australian Sailing qualifications and have Working With Children clearance.

The Junior Learn to Sail course is designed and organised to encourage the children not only to learn to sail but to have fun. Ideally children need to be able to swim. Buoyancy vests are provided by the Club.

If you would like more information about the junior training program, please download our flyer or contact us at LearnToSail@beaumarisyc.com.
