If you don’t have your own boat there are a number of alternatives that would enable you to sail.
Club members are often looking for people to crew with them in Saturday racing.
The best way to get a crew place is to come to the Club about 1230h on a racing Saturday and ask the Officer of the Day to notify members of your availability at the race briefing. There are also club-owned Pacers and small catamarans available upon application for use by members who can satisfy the Sailing School Coordinator of their sailing competency.more -->
The Club holds races on most Saturdays during the season from October to May. Some special events are also held on Sundays and a Spring Season is held in September.
The Saturday race briefing occurs at 1300h with racing commencing at approximately 1400h.
Trophies are presented for all classes with 5 or more boats. For miscellaneous mono-hulls and catamarans the VYC yardstick handicap method is used. The Club also presents trophies according to individual boat handicaps, calculated for each crew that has recorded three or more results. This Club handicap competition allows every crew to be in contention for a weekly trophy.more -->
The main classes of monohull boats sailed at PMYC include: Pacer; Laser, Sabot and the classic 18 ft. Jolly Boat. The main classes of catamarans include: Taipan, Hobie Cat, Viper, F18 and C2. Even if you have a different class boat you can sail in races and compete in the Club handicap events. The Club prides itself on its friendly and competitive sailing.more -->
