The Front Page

Welcome to the Australian Riders’ Division new website.

The Australian Riders’ Division is Motorcycling Australia’s non-competition division that has been put together to meet the needs of all those riders who have been looking for a proactive organisation dedicated to the promotion and representation of motorcycling in all forms.

MA has been involved in competition for 80 years and has a membership of around 28000 people nationally, all of whom are entitled to the benefits of the riders’ division. This makes us one of, if not the biggest rider representative organisation in Australia. Besides providing affiliation, permits and insurance for clubs and individuals, the new and improved ARD aims to become an essential resource providing advanced on-road rider development, forums, advice, and of course lots of riding.

Personal membership to the ARD costs just $35 for one year. Clubs wishing to affiliate and access our Associations Liability cover can do so for $270 per year. Why should you join and what do you get?

Note: Membership of the ARD does not permit you to compete at a Motorcycling Australia competition event. However, if you want to take part in a recreational track based activity such as a trackday, you should contact the event organiser or the State Controlling Body to obtain a recreational licence for the day at a cost of $20.

Here at ARD we've committed to "putting the fun back into motorcycling" by becoming more people focussed. This website will contain links to a lot of the previous general information but also some new things we hope you find useful and entertaining. Both Mick Stafford and myself, Rob Smith are passionate riders just like you, we're looking forward to bringing you some unique benefits and events as well as news, views and roadtests of bikes and even roads.

We hope you'll join us for the ride.
