Team Fiji tennis reps Raynal Singh and Vienna Kumar lost two straight sets to top ranked Uzbekistan duo Sanjar Fayziev and Arina Folts in the Mixed Doubles during the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games today.
Fayziev and Folts asserted their dominance on the court at the start as they won both their sets 6-1 in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.

Mareta finishes 11th in Women's 58kg

Team Fiji Weightlifter Maria Mareta finished 11th in the Women's 58kg event with a total lift of 143kg in the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan today.
Weighing in at 57.87, Mareta had a snatch of 65kg and a clean and jerk of 78kg to give her total of 143kg.

Mudunavoce back after three years

Team Fiji Weightlifter Arieta Mudunavoce managed a total lift of 125 kg to be placed overall 10th at the 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
Mudunavoce's official result was a snatch of 55 kg, a clean and jerk of 70 kg for a total lift of 125 kg in the Women's 53kg Group A.

Team Fiji Swimming coach and manager Sharon Smith has encouraged her swimmers to not only reach the top eight but aim to break national records in the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
With the athletes having ample time to prepare, Smith said the swimmers need to focus on their objective.

Powell, Naulu set new records

Team Fiji Athletes Aaron Powell and Makereta Naulu have set new Fiji national records in the 60 metres event during the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan today.
Powell clocked 6.87 seconds in the semi-finals where he surpassed his own record of 7.19 seconds which was set two weeks ago on an outdoor track.
