Ulverstone women where far too strong against a disappointing Devonport. Ulverstone set up their win with a 20 – 9 first quarter. Shelby Rayner was the outstanding player with 19 points, while Taylor Mole performed well for Devonport with 17 points.more

Under 22 Results - Tuesday 11th October

In the match of the round, Somerset women continued their good form to defeat Penguin in a high quality game. Penguin were able to stay in the contest with their ability to score beyond the arc. Somerset have now secured top spot with a very good percentage over Ulverstone. Both Bec Abel and Sami Phillips had standout games, each scoring 21 points.more

Under 22 Results - Friday 7th October

It was a close and entertaining first half between Wynyard and Burnie women. Unfortunately Burnie’s team play dropped completely away in the second half with Wynyard running out comfortable winners. In front of a good crowd, Penguin run out winners by only 3 points over Devonport women in a high standard game.more

Under 22 Results - Tuesday 4th October

Ulverstone women had a comprehensive victory over Burnie. A big first quarter by the Redhoppers, 25 – 14, set-up the win. Ulverstone’s Shelby Rayner had one of her better games of the season with 20 points. In front of a good crowd, Penguin took the points against the winless Latrobe. Latrobe were let down by their large number of turnovers, however, the final score was closer than expected.more

Under 22 Preview - Tuesday 4th October

With only one game left in the first round, the ladder is starting to sort its self out.
In the Women’s Competition, Ulverstone is still undefeated, while Penguin, Somerset and Devonport make up the top four. At this stage, Wynyard and Burnie are a further two games behind and will need to start beating the top teams if they are going to make a run for the finals.more

In the match of the round, Somerset had their first loss for the season. In a very tight and even contest, the Penguin women managed to get the very important four points. Penguin were able to control the boards in a game that was well officiated. Penguin’s Maddison Hayward had an excellent game, top scoring with 25 points.more

After an entertaining and even first half, Ulverstone women stepped up their defensive game to restrict Burnie to just 7 points in the third quarter. With several Burnie players getting into foul trouble, they were unable to get back into the contest. Sarah O’Neill led all scorers with 15 points.more

The Wynyard women’s team nearly caused the upset of the round, going down to the much more fancied Ulverstone team by only 2 points. A poor third quarter enable Ulverstone to get back into the contest. Sarah O’Neill single handily got Ulverstone over the line with a team lifting 24 points.more

Penguin are at home to Ulverstone. The women’s game will be the game of the round. Both teams are the early title favourites. Ulverstone will need to restrict the scoring ability of Rebecca Abel and will rely heavily on Shelby Rayner and Sarah O’Neill, if they are going to get the points.more

In front of a large crowd, Somerset women were too strong for the young Latrobe team. Somerset dominated the rebounding with Sami Phillips continuing her MVP form, scoring 32 points. Brooke Brown had a game high 38 points in a losing team.more

2016 Under 22 Season Preview

The NWBU U22 roster will begin this Tuesday night. The U22 roster show cases the young talent on the North West with all clubs fielding competitive teams. It gives a chance for younger players to get more court time and develop their game in readiness for next year’s senior roster. Most games are action packed, featuring fast paced and high scoring games.more
