Senior medal count

Lucindale on-baller Ryan McInerney (pictured right) has won the Virgo/Mail Medal for KNTFL best and fairest.

The Roos star, who was unable to attend on the night, was a clear winner of the league’s top individual award at the annual medal count at Naracoorte Town Hall.

McInerney was locked in a voting battle with Penola’s Matt Willson in the early part of the night, with both players on 20 votes after 12 rounds, but McInerney then strung together three consecutive best on ground performances to pull away and win with 29 votes.

Willson won the Edwards Trophy for finishing second with 25 votes and Bordertown’s Clint Diment polled 22.

Top 10: Ryan McInerney (Luc) 29, Matt Willson (Penola) 25, Clint Diment (Btown) 22, James Hinge (Mundulla) 18, Tom Cooper (Kyby) 15, Nick Hunt (Keith) 14, Simon Berkefeld (Pen) 13, Cam McPherson (Kyby) 13, Darcy Boyanton (Pad) 12, Jake McGrice (Mun) 12.
