Show's Over - Back to reality
May 29, 2007
I'm home and back to work today. It's been an awesome experience, and a whirl-wind trip, taking in 9 countries in 6 weeks. Here's the best and worst of it in a nutshell...

Thailand
May 29, 2007
Thailand was the final destination on the trip. Bankok is fast paced, cluttered, polluted, hot, noisy, and infested with manky cats and dogs. But it's a terrific cultural experience. Jack ate dogs balls and we got fleeced big time by the Tuk Tuk drivers...

Switzerland
May 29, 2007
I only had 3 days here, but if I had the chance to go back to anywhere I visited, it would probably be Switzerland. Zurich is a great city, I met some great people at the hostel and the views and scenery around Mount Pilatus were magnificent.

Dubrovnik and Croatian Islands
May 29, 2007
Dubrovnik was my favourite town in Croatia - the old town, surrounded by a 6000 year old fortress wall, was a maze of laneways, with museums, monuments, churches, and over 100 pubs, bars, restaurants and cafes. The views from the walls of the old town were incredible...

Slippery Split
May 17, 2007
Im here in slippery Split where you have to watch the marble stone pavement! Croatia is beautiful, yesterday I made my way down from Zagreb to the Plitvice Lakes Natural Park where there's about 18 lakes and dozens of waterfalls. From there I caught the bus down to split where I will stay for 2 nights before heading out to the islands.

Am I bovered?
May 10, 2007
A big ello from chilly England.
England is freezing but amazing - the architecture in London is spectacular. There are some great contrasts to New York - the pace is more easy going, people a bit more relaxed, more room, open spaces, etc. and the city is much more low rise. But there is still plenty to do - in the first 3 days Jack and I walked through all the famous areas of town - Picadilly Circus, Oxford Circus, Trafalgar Square, went for a ride on the London Eye, went to the Paliament Buildings (Big Ben), St Paul's Cathedral (incredible - and best views of London from the top, about 1000 steps up a tiny spiral staircase, although Jack wasn't too wrapped our position 100 metres from street level), and visited the British Museum. Caught up with Mark (from Fiji) and Sambo (Broph's mate who came to visit me in Wollongong), who took us to a few of the local pubs.

New York - Mission Accomplished
May 05, 2007
New York has come and gone and Jack and I are about to board a plane to London is a few hours time. We've had a sensational time here - it's an amazing city which you really need a few weeks to explore, but we soaked the most out of it in the 5 days we had here.

Aussies are Champions
May 05, 2007
We ended up watching the game at the bar at our hotel, which was handy because every time we got a wicket we all jumped into the pool. Great knock Gilly, crushing performance, weird finish - great celebrations by the Aussie tourists in St Lucia!! We started the day at an English pub but with the lengthy rain delay we decided to hit the beach/ pool/ go back to hotel and when it stated up again we weren't going anywhere! The staff loved our antics and the other people staying there must have been bemused by the celebrations!

Shaggy
April 28, 2007
To top off an amazing semi final on Wednesday we went and saw the man of Shag play live in St Lucia!! (aka Shaggy-land). I wouldn't have called myself the biggest Chaggy fan in the world but he has his very own radio station over here - Shaggy FM - and his concert was sensational!!

Very funny

Good one Hoody - you've infiltrated my website. Never trust a Carlton supporter. Who would have thought we'd beat Adelaide, Freo and St Kilda and lose to Carlton and Collingwood - the two weakest teams in the comp? Oh, well, it's cricket season anyway...

Anzac Day
April 25, 2007
We've just been for a day-trip around St Lucia and it was amazing. We viewed the Pitons - 2 huge mountains that rise from the water, went inside a volcano, and visited a waterfall - although it didn't have anything on Grenada's 7 Sisters.

Hey Ooh Aah
April 25, 2007
Hi all
Thought I had better get around to sending you an update on the trip - It's already been a week since I left home, although the first 3 1/2 days were mostly spent on planes and in airports. But was all worth it! Grenada is an amazing country with exceptionally friendly, easy going people, and it the beaches, mountains and the view of the main city of St George are stunning. And to cap it off the aussies are looking good in the cricket after a strong win against Sri Lanka on monday (made slighly easier due to the absence on Murali and Vaas) and we now face the trans-tasman rivals here on Friday. We've got tickets in the party stand and it should be a cracking day. Thanks to everyone who has sent text messages through - hopefully you've received my replies as I've been having trouble sending texts from my phone.
