The Tahitian surfing team swept the SPG surfing competition by taking all gold medals. Tahiti won the Men's Long Board, Men's Short Board and Women's Short Board finals to win three gold medals. The team displayed their experience and skill in the big surf to take home the medals.more

Short Board Medal Favourites Advance to the Final

The South Pacific Games surfing Men's Open took place on Tuesday in Savaii. The big swell that had been hitting the resort for the past few days was still rolling in, producing fast barreling right and left handers down the reef. The South Pacific Games surfing competition officially opened on Monday with a traditional ava ceremony on the beach in front of the surf break. The event opened with great surfing conditions. The four to six foot swell, with bigger waves in the larger sets, were rolling in. With the sun shining and tide just right, competitors were keen to hit the water.more
