PWaSC Chair Carol attends IOC Conference

Palau Women and Sports Commission Chair Carol Ngiraidis with Baklai Temengil, Secretary General of Palau NOC and a member of Women and Sports Oceania both attended the IOC World Conference Women and Sport 5th Edition in Los Angeles, CA from 15 to 19th February 2012.  The IOC conference is every four years with objective of analyzing the progress made within the Olympic Movement and identifying ways to improve and increase the participation of women in the world of sport.  16 NOC's of the Oceania, including Palau have delegates in this conferene, were Oceania Women and Sport also hosted a day workshop session to the Oceania group.


PWaSC 2011 Activity

The Palau Women and Sports Activity report for 2011 looks busy with some of the higlights of Chais A Merael outreach, the Share the Road project and the continuous efforts for increasing partnership to use sport as a tool and a vehicle for change, specifically in promoting healthy living in Palau.

PWaSC 2010 Report and 2011 Plans

Palau Women and Sports Commission had an active place at the Micronesian Games 2010 – helping the organizing committee with women leaders as tournament directors, games volunteers, organizers, sponsors and especially doing pre games activities such as walk/runs, media promotion and delivery of games awareness to the public through sponsorship programs and involvement in the operations and management of the games organizing committee.

Women and Sport Oceania Report

WASCP Working Group

As a result of the recently held Women and Sport workshop held on 24th October, the Working Group for the Palau Women and Sport Commission has met several times since to review and finalize its Constitution for approval and adoption at the 1st General Assembly schedule to be held in February 2009.more

Palau's Women in Sport

There are fourteen federations registered under Palau NOC and are members of their respective IF's. Out of those fourteen federations there are a total of sixty-nine members. Jubilee K. Kuartei

Jubilee: Athlete, Coach, Official

Jubilee has come a long way since she first began playing sports. Even as a child she had that competitive streak in her driving her to excel in whatever sport she played. From athlete to coach to official. Jubilee is the only female FIBA International licensed referee in the Oceania Region, with the exception of Australia.
