Canberra Girls u16 open trials Tuesday 27th May

We will hold trials for this team on TUESDAY 27th MAY 2014 at Northbourne Oval - Canberra from 4.30pm-6pm.
Any player from 13-16 can trial, and they do not have to be playing in the local U17 Girls competition. Just wear football gear, boots and bring a mouthguard and drink bottle.

Last Thursday saw the annual High Schools Summer 7's take place at Northbourne Oval Braddon, Canberra

Macquarie Sports Super Clinics in the Riverina

This term the Riverina will be having 2 Macquarie Sports Super Clinics, the first in Wagga on the 17th of May and the 2nd to be held in Griffith, Friday the 25th of May. Various NRL players will b attending these days including Nathan Hindmarsh, Nathan Gardner, Anthony Tupou and Andrew Fifita. These days are to promote Rugby League and encourage a healthy lifestyle for Primary School kidsmore

2012 Sports trainers course (postponed)


 Due to a lack of interest in the proposed Sports Trainers Course (First Aid) that was to be held on Saturday and Sunday the 24th & 25th of March, the course has been cancelled.

 f there is sufficient interest another course will be offered at the conclusion of the 2012 season.

URGENT Coaching Courses Postponed



Due to the floods in our region at the moment, and the problems this is causing with travelling around the region, the decision has been made to postpone the Coaching Courses that were set to be held this weekend in both Griffith on Saturday the 10th and in Wagga on Sunday the 11th. Both the mini/mod and international courses will be postponed.


The following dates have been decided as the new dates for these coaching courses:



-         Wagga Modified Games Coach course, Sunday the 25th of March.


-         Wagga International Games Coach course, Sunday the 25th of March.



-         Griffith Modified Games Coach course, Sunday the 1st of April.


-     Griffith International Games Coach course, Sunday the 1st of April.


Venues for these dates will be sent out as we confirm the availability of the venues. The starting times will remain at 9am for all courses.

2012 Riverina Development Camp

Our Development staff will be conducting a Rugby League Development Camp in April 2012. This residential camp is for boy’s aged 12 to 16 years and is to be held at Yanco Agricultural High School. Professional coaches will be on hand to instruct the players through an intensive program of Rugby League skill sessions. I would thoroughly recommend the camp to any aspiring Rugby League players. 2012 Mortimer Shield

Once agian in 2012, the Mortimer shield will be held in term 2. The Mortimer shield is a year 5 and 6 boys rugby league and girls league tag competition held annually in the riverina. For those schools that are interested please go to the Mortimer Shield section of our website.


2012 CRL Sports Trainers Course

Coming up in March will be a Level 1 ARL First aid Officers Course. The venue for the two day course has not been confirmed but more details will be available soon. For those interested, click the more link for further details


2012 Coaching Courses

There will be a series of Coaching Courses held in the Riverina this year. The first will be at Griffith on the 10th March at the Griffith Leagues Club starting at 9am on this day there will be a Modified Games Course (7-12 yrs) and and International Games Course (13yr +) held at the same time. Trent Barrett Medal Winners 2011

This year seen the introduction to the Trent Barrett Medal awarded to those who were seen as the player of the final. This year this award was given to Will Reinhold from St Annes Temora and Andria Zanotto from Griffith North.


Girls Trent Barrett Shield 2011

Griffith North have defeated Griffith Public School in the grand final at Paramore Park today to claim the title of Trent Barrett League Tag 2011 winners. Along the way Griffith North defeated Trinity Harden, St Joseph's Leeton and South Wagga. They remained undefeated all day in this tough competition.
