Taekwondo sports will include again at the upcoming Solomon Games in Auki in June this year 2010. It is encouraging to see the sport included again at this National competition.

Taekwondo in Solomon Games 2010, AUKI- Malaita Province

The President of Solomon Islands Taekwondo Union confirmed that Taekwondo will again in included at the upcoming S/Games to be held at Auki from 21st to 25th June this year. He advised the provincial teams to be ready.more

TAEKWONDO INCLUDED IN 2006 SOLOMON GAMES

Its the second time Taekwondo was included in one of the country's highiest competitions, the Solomon Games. This years games would be held between 26th June to 7th July and will be hosted by the Makira Ulawa province. The venue would be at Waimapuru NSS.more

CURFEW & RIOTING HALT TRAINING PROGRAMS FOR A WEEK

The Curfew imposed from 6pm to 6am since 18th to 27th April, due to rioting, halted this years Taekwondo training programs.more

KIDS AND WOMEN PROGRAM 2006 STARTED

Training programmes for kids and women will begin on 4th April 2006. This will be initited by SITU and will be looked after by one of the well established dojang in the Solomons, the JON's Taekwondo Dojang which is own by the SITU President.more

2006 ACTIVITIES LAUNCHED

The federation had launch programs for this year. It will focus much on the development of the sport to the 10 provinces, preparations for the Solomon Games in June and the 2nd Oceania Championships in August at New Zealand.more

The federation's National Coach, Mr. Philip Afu returned home after attending a month long Coaching course in Korea from 4th to 31st July 2005 sanction by the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF).more

OCEANIA TAEKWONDO UNION ESTABLISHED

The Oceania Taekwondo Union (OTU) was officially formed on the 16th July 2005, as sanctioned by the WTF in fulfilment of its reforms for this Olympiad period.more

4 ATHLETES SELECTED FOR THE 1ST OCEANIA

4 athletes was selected to compete at the 1st Oceania Taekwondo championship to be held in Sydney from the 25th to 26th July 2005.more
