November 8, 2014 - National Coach Billy Brown along with national swimmers Romellen Maido and Roylin Akiwo and PSA Board member Holly Zinchefsky made Palau swimming history today by swimming a 10K round trip to "small island" from the seaplane ramp in Meyuns.more

2014 Etpison Cup Results (May 10)

In beautiful weather and calm water swimmers dove off the dock behind the Drop Off Bar and Grill and swam an out-and-back along the opposing rock island, Long Island. Most of the national team, heavily training for the upcoming Micronesian Games in Pohnpei, raced the 2500M.more

April 2014 Open Water Swim / Sprint Triathlon

The Palau Swimming Association (PSA) and Belau Triathlon Federation (BTF) teamed up again on 12 Apr 2014 to host a combined open water swim and sprint triathlon event at the Meyuns Ramp. In perfectly calm waters, swimmers competed in 500m, 1000m, 1500m, 3000m and 5000m distances while the triathletes swam 500m, biked 10km and ran 5km...more

February 2014 Open Water Swim / Sprint Triathlon

The 2014 Open Water Swim events got off to a good start on February 1st at the Meyuns seaplane ramp. Under clear skies and relatively calm seas, 500 meter, 1.5K, 3K and 5K events were offered. See photo for a few of the organizers and participants. On Feb 20, the first 2014 pool challenge or "Bemesemau" was also a great success with 26 participating swimmers.more

Maria Gibbons Carries Youth Olympic Torch

Maria Gibbons was honored to have been selected as one of the torchbearers to carry the 1st Youth Olympic Games flame for the Oceania Region on Saturday, Aug. 13 in Singapore.more

Palau Sends Swimmer to 1st Youth Olympics

Maria Gibbons is in Singapore representing Palau at the 1st Youth Olympic Games. She will compete in the 50m and 100m Freestyle events. Maria also has the honor of being a torchbearer on August 13 at this historic event. Palau Swimming wishes Maria all the best!

Swimming Competition Ends on High Note

Swimming events have now finished and several Micro Games records were broken. Athletes, coaches, managers and officials all agreed that the events were a great success.more

Palau Bags Gold in Micro Games 2010

Palau Swim Team has earned 18 medals after 2 days of competition in the Micro Games 2010. The women's relay team swam for back to back gold medals in the 200 meter Medley relay and the 800 meter Free relay on Monday night.more

The Palau Swimming Association held its annual general meeting (AGM) on Thursday, January 14th featuring board elections.more

Palau's Participation in 2009 Jr. Pan Pacs

The Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships were completed earlier this week at Leo Palace Resort on Guam where over 30 Pan Pac records were broken over the 4 days of pool competition. There were 189 swimmers who showed their very best during the competition. Maria Gibbons was Palau’s sole swimmer at the Championships where she competed in the 200 meter freestyle finishing in a time of 2:38.55, the 100 meter freestyle, finishing first in her heat in 1:09.61 and the 50 meter freestyle finishing in 30.62. While not medaling, Gibbons made personal bests in each of her events showing that constant practice and hard work in the pool pays off.more

Palau participates in 12th FINA World Championship

Three young swimmers, Sikosang Yobech, Maria Gibbons and Isao Misech participated in the 12th FINA World Championships held in Melbourne, Australia in March, 2007. Accompanied by Coach Tina Shima, Team Leader, Senator Caleb Otto and Team Support, Annabel Lyman, the team fared well and shared the pools with the world's best.more
