Ha'atafu Beach

Haátafu Beach Resort is situated on the North Western peninsula of Tongatapu Island, the southern most and main island of the Tongan group.
Nukúalofa, the capital is 21kms by road from resort.

The resort is owned and operated by an Aussie, Steve Burling and his Tongan wife Sesika and their extended family. Steve has been living and surfing in Tonga for over 20 years. His experience and knowledge of the local breaks and conditions is second to none and ensures you will always be surfing the best waves on offer.

The resort's lagoon is 'National Marine Reserve' and hosts an astounding array of marine life - a snorkellers paradise!

Accommodation consists of basic beachside bungalows (falé) which overlook the magnificent lagoon and surf beyond. All falés have double or single beds & a table.

A separate amenities block has cold fresh water showers (solar bags provided) and toilets. The total number of guests at any one time is limited to 20, which ensures a relaxed uncrowded atmosphere prevails.

The food is one of the highlights of the resort with fresh seafood daily guaranteed by the resort's fishing boats. The boats troll daily for tuna, mahi mahi and marlin. Cuisine is healthy and hearty and guaranteed to fuel the body.

Steve was a chef in Australia and loves dabbling in the kitchen.
His fresh tuna mornay is awesome. Plenty of fresh produce is always available.

Beach BBQ's are regular.
