Top four from the main competition will play next week in the quarter-finals with the top four from western division. Plate semi-finals will feature top two from Suva and two from Lautoka. Fiji Nationals will be held over two weeks (20th-23rd Feb; 1st-2nd March), the first week of pool plays and qualifying rounds to be held in Lautoka and Suva. The second week brings in the top players for the battle staged in Suva at Defence and Victoria Courts. World Squash Day

Squash enthusiasts celebrated World Squash Day at Defence Club in Suva on Saturday 20th October 2012 in support of the bid by World Squash foe squash to be included in the Olympic Games in the year 2020. 30 participants took part in a total of 19 singles games and 7 doubles games. The final scores were Team Squash 15 wins and Team 2020 10 wins.more

Capital Hill wins Plate in DC Winter Business House League 2012

Capital Hill players Pritesh (left), Jioji (right) and the Squash Fiji President Eddie (centre) with the trophy. The star player for the plate final was Jioji. He lost in the 1st set but made a come back in the second set and won 18-16 against Tale of Fosters. Jioji strongly played the 3rd set and not only won his match but a major win for the plate.more

DC BHL 2012; VT Solutions to face BSP

The DC BHL enters into its second last week of exciting matches. Tuesday night, VT solutions defeated Mechanical Diakin in 1st Cup semi-final while Fosters defeated Datec to qualify to the plate final and will face Capital Hill. The 2nd Cup semi-final featured Graphic Equipment Ltd (GEL) and Bank of the South Pacific(BSP). BSP defeated GEL and now meets VT solution in next weeks Final.more

Trip to Planters Club-Savusavu: 9th-11th June 2012

Defence Club squash, darts and snooker players together with Northern Club squash champs made a trip to Planters Club in Savusavu during the weekend, 9th -11th June. Fun games plus a series of serious competition took place in the newly built squash court. The final won by Justin Ho, Fiji number one, over upcoming squash star Marika.

VC had a successful fun tournament with each player having 4 games during the week. Every game counted as a ladder challenge match and affected players ranking on the ladder.  Congratulations to the winners and participants for the excellent sportsmanship displayed over the week.

The Sports Awards 2010 will be held on Friday 04th March 2010 at the National Gymnasium.
Table reservations and purchase of tickets can be made at the Fiji Sports Council.  Tickets cost $40.00 per person, that includes happy hour, ten course meal, entertainment and dancing to Ken Jansen and the Hearts.

2010 Business House League : Remington Triumps!!

Remington Triumps!!

National squash rep Sailesh Pala captain the Remington squash team to a well deserving win beating Xtreme business solutions. on 4 2 on aggregate. Earlier in Semi Final Remignton defeated the tournament favorites consisting mostly a & b grade players. Remington played with 4 players only losing out on bonus point every week. Sailesh Pala proved to be the worthy captain picking and dropping all his team members and made sure the team does well every week.
The team had players mostly from Metro Squash club, Sailesh, Jioji, Opeti, Neil,(sponsor) & Fook.

2010 World Squash Day (WSD) Report

 DATE: Saturday 6 November


In terms of the message from World Squash Federation (WSF), that we make some attempts to promote new players to our sport, all Squash Fiji (SF) affiliated clubs were invited to meet the challenge, and make an effort to attract at least 20 new juniors and 10 new adults by 6 November. Challenge period ran from 2 weeks prior to that date with clubs encouraged to engage in some form of activity on 6 November to mark this important day.


The response from Clubs was very encouraging and we thank all Clubs and their Presidents for their interest and all


involved on the ground at the various venues for their time, enthusiasm and sacrifice towards promoting our sport.

As the Engineered Designs National Squash Championship came to a close last night, the galant warhorses applauded with praise the heralding of a new era in Squash. Lautoka players continued their dominance in Squash at this year's Engineered Designs National Squash finals to be held on Friday afternoon at Suva's Defence Club. The Men's A Grade final and Ladies Open finals is an all Lautoka matchup whilst Suva players go head to head in the A2 and B Grade category. The C Grade final will see promising Lautoka youngster Marika Matanatabu go toe to toe with Suva's Solomone Tokovou.more

Winston Thompson, Isimeli Cerelala and Steve Wall will march on to the next round of their respective competition after accounting for their much younger opponents on Tuesday night. Dubbed the "Masters" of this tournament, the three well respected gentlemen did not let up at any stage to overpower their opponents in their first round matches.more

Steve Wall makes a return to Fiji Squash

As Squash Fiji concludes their 2008 calendar with their last major event, the Engineered Designs National Squash Championship, a number of prominent veteran Squash players mark their return to competition Squash including 1992 and 1993 Fiji Open Men’s champion, Steve Wall. Wall is here on holiday and reluctantly accepted the invitation by fellow squash mates to play in the A1 Grade starting tonight. Also making the A2 Grade are Squash Fiji’s Patron and life member Winston Thompson and evergreen life member, Isimeli Cerelala. “It’s good to be back in Fiji and playing the sport I love”, says Wall. “I haven’t played squash in 8 years and this tournament brings back a lot of memories of my competitive playing days here”, he added.more

The Engineered Designs National Squash Championships will be held from the 1st - 5th of December in Suva. This tournament is expected to draw some big names as well as some veteren players who will be out to prove their worth. Entries have been flowing in steadily since last week with more expected to join before this weekend.more

Justin Ho, squash’s rising teenage star and Fiji’s top women’s player, Rita Takiveikata took top honors in the McDonald’s 2008 Fiji Squash Open finals last Saturday 26th July.
