Vigor Selected as Wildcat

Benchmark Designer Homes’ Redbacks’ State Basketball League player Michael Vigor has been selected as a Perth Wildcats Development player for season 2011/12.

This selection recognises the 204 cm athletic centres’ strong season in the State Basketball League in the 2011 season, in which he averaged 14 points at a field goal percentage of 53 along with seven rebounds per game.

State Basketball League coach David Harris attributed Michael’s selection to his greatly improved work ethic.

“He has developed in maturity as a player, as demonstrated by the fact that he became a regular in our starting five”, he said.

It is also a tribute to Harris, along with the junior and senior development programme of the Redbacks, that this is the third Wildcats’ development player in the last three years that has come from this club; the previous two being point guard Joel Wagner and shooting guard Jarrad Prior.

The Redbacks congratulates Michael on this fine achievement and wishes him all of the best in the season ahead.
